When you're down and out and life kicks you in the face, you come to realize the depth of the relationships that you've built over your life. Almost in anticipation, you might secretly sit there waiting for those for whom you have sacrificed so much to come for you- to provide you a helping hand and offer that one last catch that you need before you get swallowed by the throughs of life. Just once more.
But they don't come, because no one is going to come, my friends. You are on your own.
In this life, only you have been bestowed with the power to save yourself; to turn your life around; to make something out of the 70 or so short years that we call "life." You must stop waiting if you want to take unrestricted action, and unleash the best that is within you.
Knowing this should set you free; for only when we expect something from others can we face true disappointment; and if only we can be responsible for disappointing ourselves than we've truly achieved, the limitless.
