Where does self-confidence come from?
There are a number of opinions on this exact subject.......I believe it comes from levels of satisfaction and being content in a number of different aspects of a life. When the mind wanders, I tend to wade off into how contented I am in a number of aspects, not limited to but mainly:
I regularly like to take stock of each of the above aspects of life individually over periods of time and take action to improve if I see lapses or poor performance. It goes without saying that some things are out with your own personal control and cannot be altered however it is the awareness that they need improved that matters most.
All of the aspects above link back to self-confidence. If you are on top of these aspects, happy and contended in each, it will do wonders in my opinion.
You will look at other people who seem to emit self-confidence and wish you were like them, the way they act and the way they portray themselves in groups. It is not something that is going to be achievable overnight so I wouldn’t become disheartened when it doesn’t begin to change immediately.
What have you got to lose? If you don’t try and change it, the self-confidence will never be yours.
Be demanding of yourself, go and seek the improvement and do not EVER become jealous of other’s perceived confidence. Why can you not become that person that people look up to? What is the worst that can happen?
If it does not go the way that you planned, simply take the hit and go again. Let’s be honest here, goals often fail at the first hurdle, so use it as a learning curve and ensure that if there are any bumps in the road, they are smoothed over for next time.
